YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Columba Cathedral provided the setting for the July 21 wedding of Melissa Sklepko and Phil Karam, both of Powell.
Monsignor Lawrence Fye officiated at the 2:30 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Nancy Hartley of Austintown and Michael Sklepko of Youngstown and the son of Alia Karam of Stow and Ronald Karam of Akron.
The newlyweds accepted congratulations during a reception at St. Mary Assumption Social Center.
The bride's sister, Jennifer Sklepko, was honor attendant, and bridesmaids were Melanie Silvester, sister of the bride; Norma Karam, the groom's sister-in-law; Sandy Haines, his sister; Debbi Johnson; Melanie Humphrey; and Michelle Martin.
Performing the duties of best man for his brother was Joe Karam. Groomsmen were Michael Sklepko, brother of the bride; Lou Jaber, cousin of the groom; Carl Haines, his brother-in-law; Vince Vantell; Paul Kokos; and Bill Seach.
Embroidery highlighted the bride's white strapless organza gown.
Mrs. Karam will graduate in August from Ohio Dominican College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She works for Huntington Bank in Columbus.
The groom is a mortgage broker with a Columbus mortgage company.
They live in Powell.
