Kovaches mark 50th jubilee at dinner party

CAMPBELL -- A dinner celebration was held July 1 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman in honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. George Kovach, 79 Goretti Drive.
Hosts for the event were the couple's son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Lisa Kovach of Boardman.
Mr. Kovach and the former Marie Splawinski were married June 30, 1951, at St. Philip and James Church in New Castle, Pa. He served in the 26th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army during World War II and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. He is retired from Commonwealth Land Title Co. in Youngstown and is a self-employed title examiner. He is a member of American Legion 560, VFW 4723, St. Michael Civic Club and the St. John the Baptist Men's Club.
His wife is retired from Shenango Pottery in New Castle.
The couple belong to St. John the Baptist Church.
