Location/directions: Cooperstown is in central New York State, 70 miles west of Albany and 30 miles south of the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90). From Buffalo, take I-90 east to Exit 30 at Herkimer; take state Route 28 south to Cooperstown.Hours: In winter, open Oct. 1 through April 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week; open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in April, October, November and December. In summer, open May 1 through Sept. 30, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.Admission: $9.50 for adults, $8 for senior citizens (65 and older), $4 for juniors (ages 7-12) and free for children (under 7).
