CONNIE MACK TOURNAMENT Three local teams advance to regional



WW Heating benefited by the luck of the draw.
STRUTHERS -- Roth Brothers, Fabulous Goldsteins and WW Heating have earned berths for next week's Connie Mack regional tournaments.
Five teams tied for the last qualifying spot after being eliminated in Saturday's action of the 18-and-younger state tournament at Cene Park.
All five drew from a hat, and WW Heating picked the winning slip to advance.
Cleveland Select 9, WW Heating 4: Cleveland Select scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the third.
Chris Hall hit a home run and double and drove in four runs for the winners.
Mike Krieger hit three singles to pace WW Heating.
Tom Zetts hit a triple and single and drove in two runs.
Goldsteins 11, Falcons 3: Fabulous Goldsteins scored 10 of its 13 runs in the last four innings to eliminate the Falcons.
Matt Repec went 3-for-3 with a double and drove in three runs. Kevin Gesacion hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. He also collected two singles.
Steve Procner came on in relief in the first inning, allowed only two hits and struck out four to pick up the win.
Andy's 9er's 10, Roth Brothers 4: Roth Brothers was handed its initial loss by Andy's 9er's.
Andy's 9er's scored four runs in the first inning and put the game out of reach as it scored five more in the sixth.
Jason Jablonski hit a double and two singles to spark Roth Brothers, who advanced to the regional by reaching the tournament semifinals. Dante Delisio hit a pair of singles and drove in two runs.
