BROOKFIELD -- Blood pressure screenings are available from 10 a.m. to noon at the Brookfield Library and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Liberty Library, both Aug. 7.
Volunteers sought
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning Valley American Cancer Society is recruiting cancer survivors to be volunteers in the Patient Navigator Program to help those recently diagnosed with cancer with non-medical information and resources. Alzheimer's fund-raiser
CANFIELD -- The Alzheimer's Association Greater Youngstown Chapter will have its largest fund-raiser of the year with its eighth annual Memory Walk-a-thon Oct. 13 at the Canfield Fairgrounds. The noncompetitive walk is open to all ages. Call (800) 441-3322 for more information.
Free luau scheduled
CANFIELD -- Cancer patients, survivors and their families are invited to a free luau to celebrate life Aug. 10 at Yellow Duck Park. The event is sponsored by the Mahoning Valley American Cancer Society, Humility of Mary Health Partners, and Blood and Cancer Center Inc.
The event begins at 11 a.m. A dinner is from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. A breast cancer lecture is from 5 to 5:45 p.m. The registration deadline is Friday. Call (877) 700-4647.
Medical student camp
ROOTSTOWN -- Fifty youths will experience life as a medical student Thursday through Saturday at MEDCAMP at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine.
The camp, now in its 11th year, is for students entering the ninth grade who have demonstrated achievement in science and an interest in medicine as a possible career.

Birth-related classes
YOUNGSTOWN -- Forum Health is offering a variety of birth-related classes, including:
