YOUNGSTOWN -- Honeymooning in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, are Robert Wayne Smith and his bride, the former Aimee Lynn Carter, who were married at 2 p.m. July 21 at St. Christine Church.
Monsignor David Rhodes officiated for the daughter of Jerry and Mary Carter, Boardman, and the son of Linda Smith of Lakewood, and Randall Smith of Grafton.
The couple were honored at a reception afterward at The Georgetown in Boardman. They will live in Lakewood.
The bride wore a satin gown trimmed with crystals and pearls.
Maid of honor was Shelley Salt, and bridesmaids were Rebecca Mettee-Carter, the bride's sister-in-law; Randa Myers, the groom's sister; Mary and Annie Connelly, the bride's cousins; Cheryl Siegried; Meghan Carey; Marilyn Basista; and Jennifer Bundschu. Junior bridesmaid was Deanna Myers, the groom's niece. They wore black gowns.
Brian Geiger was best man, and groomsmen were Sam Bonvissuto; Kevin Hearns; Joe Carter, the bride's brother; Brian Kelley; Brad Lane; Brian Gallagher; and Tom Flynn. The groom's nephew, Scott Myers, was junior groomsman.
Mrs. Smith holds a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communications from Ohio University and is a publications specialist in the marketing department at Marymount Hospital, Garfield Heights.
Her husband graduated from OU with a bachelor's degree in communications systems management and is a sales engineer for Mcleod USA Communications in Independence.
