Workers reinstated
CHAMPION -- The governing board of Trumbull Career and Technical Center has agreed to rehire five cafeteria workers after they came up with plans to increase revenue.
Ideas include offering fewer food options, more in-house catering and using more low-cost meal items.
The board eliminated the workers' jobs earlier this year because cafeteria operations were running an annual deficit.
The board voted to reinstate the workers on the conditions that they accept a one-year wage freeze and an extended workday.
Citywide garage sale
GIRARD -- The fourth annual citywide garage sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4. The rain date is Aug. 11.
Councilman Joseph Manente, who is in charge of the sale, said individual residents have sales at their homes. No fee is charged to conduct a sale. Those who want to participate should contact Manente at (330) 545-8374.
