SHARON Four officers are injured while trying to arrest city man

The man's aunt was charged with hindering apprehension.
SHARON, Pa. -- The city police department was down four officers Wednesday night after they were injured when they attempted to arrest a city man.
Police charged Octavius Clark, 23, of Prindle Street with aggravated assault, riot, resisting arrest, accidents involving death or personal injury, damaging an attended vehicle, disorderly conduct and numerous traffic violations.
They also charged Clark's aunt, Mary Rice, 44, also of Prindle Street with riot, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension or prosecution, disorderly conduct and obstructing administration of the law or other governmental function. Police said she interfered with Clark's arrest.
Police said one officer suffered a severe bite to his upper arm and shoulder area, another had to be treated for severe reaction to a chemical spray, one officer sprained his leg and pulled several tendons, and another officer strained his back.
At least one of the officers will be off work indefinitely, police said.
What happened: Police said officers were called to respond to a hit-and-run accident at Budd Street and New Castle Avenue. They said a vehicle believed to be operated by Clark failed to stop for a traffic signal, hit two vehicles, then fled the scene. They said a passenger in one of those vehicles was treated at an area hospital.
Police said an officer located Clark, who fit witnesses' description of the driver of the suspected vehicle, on a front porch on Prindle Street and asked for his name, but he provided them with a false name.
Police said another officer identified Clark and police discovered he was wanted by Mercer County Common Pleas Court on a bench warrant in connection with an assault on a police officer.
Police said they attempted to arrest Clark, but he resisted, biting one officer. Police said they used a chemical spray to still him, but Rice positioned herself between Clark and police. At one point, she used a lawn hose to try to wash the chemical spray off her nephew, police said.
Clark and Rice were treated at Sharon Regional Health System's hospital for minor injuries. They were to be arraigned today.
