Salem radio stations moving to Boardman

SALEM -- Two Salem radio stations could be operating from a different studio by Labor Day.
WSOM-AM and WQXK-FM are moving to a studio on Simon Road in Boardman, which is owned by Cumulus Broadcasting, an Atlanta-based company that owns WSOM and WQXK as well as several other local stations that broadcast from the Boardman location.
The two Salem stations are being moved so that all of Cumulus' local stations can be under one roof, general manager Tim Foley explained .
About 10 employees work at the two stations. No one is losing their job as a result of the relocation, Foley said.
He noted that the formats of the stations will be the same, as will their locations on the radio dial.
