SCRAPPERS NOTES From the road

Third sweep: The four-game sweep by the Crosscutters was the third of the season against the Scrappers and the second by Williamsport. The Crossutters took both games at Cafaro Field on June 23-24. Last week, Mahoning Valley was swept at home by Staten Island in a rematch of last year's New York-Penn League's championship series. Not only have the Scrappers now lost eight straight games, they have also dropped 10 of their last 11 and 16 of their last 18 contests.
Extra-innings: When the Scrappers were defeated by Williamsport 4-3 in 10 innings Monday, it marked the seventh time they have fallen in extra inning games in as many tries.
