Many elderly people have a family member or someone else looking after their interests. Ways to protect those interests include:
Talking honestly and openly about how easily a person can lose or waste money.
Encouraging the person to never give any personal information, such as credit card or bank card numbers, to any stranger.
Reading the fine print on sweepstakes forms and not taking claims at face value.
