ULSTER PROJECT Breakfast to benefit Make A Wish Foundation

Teens from Northern Ireland will participate in the fund-raising project.
BOARDMAN -- Mahoning Valley Ulster Project is sponsoring a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 22 at St. Charles Church Hall, state Route 224, as a benefit for the Make A Wish Foundation of Northeast Ohio.
The cost for meals is $4 for adults and $2.50 for children 4-12.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at The House of Erin, 5136 Southern Blvd.; Northeast Construction Supply, 8530 South Ave.; McCormick Jewelry, 5015 Mahoning Ave., Austintown; Buckeye Pharmacy, 12 N. Broad St., Canfield; R & amp;S Paint, 5062 Youngstown-Poland Road, Struthers; and Chrystal's Restaurant, 1931 Belmont Ave., Youngstown.
Participants: Among the teens assisting with serving the breakfasts will be 12 from the Belfast area of Northern Ireland. They are being sponsored by the Ulster Project during a monthlong stay in the United States, during which they will have an opportunity to build trust and establish friendships with host teens.
This is the 14th year that the Ulster Project, a nonprofit volunteer organization, has worked to raise funds, find host homes and plan activities for the 15-year-old Catholic and Protestant youths who are selected each year to participate in the program.
Agenda: This year the group of young people from Northern Ireland arrived June 30 and has been participating in a number of social and fund-raising activities arranged by the Ulster Project. Remaining activities include the following: a visit to the Jubilee Gardens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday; meeting at Lanterman's Mill at 10 a.m. and a tour of Fellows Riverside Gardens at 1 p.m. Tuesday; a car wash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Burger King, state Route 224, Canfield, and also at Chick Fil-A, state Route 224; a valley sports fun soccer game between the Northern Ireland teens and American teens at 10 a.m. July 24 at 276 State St., Struthers; a talent show at 7 p.m. July 27 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Boardman; and a potluck dinner at 6:15 p.m. July 30 at the church, where an ecumenical service will be held at 7. The Northern Ireland teens will depart for their homeland July 31.
