YOUNGSTOWN -- Central Christian Church was the setting at 4 p.m. June 23 as marriage vows were exchanged by Shannon Raquel Anderson, daughter of Melvin and Mary Anderson of Youngstown, and Karl Jordan Penn, son of William and Quincy Penn, 279 Redondo Road.
The Revs. Daryl and Vanessa Ward officiated, and a reception took place at Antone's Banquet Centre in Boardman.
After a honeymoon to St. Thomas, the couple are residing in Dayton.
The bride's white gown of lace over satin was designed with a fitted bodice accented with rhinestones and pearls and a chapel-length tulle train.
Her sister, Rachelle Anderson, was maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Sheree Brown, Erica Cobbin, Regina Pennington, Angela Jenkins and Angelica Littles. They wore champagne-colored gowns. Flower girls were Cassandra Randolph, the bride's niece, and Kara Penn, the groom's niece.
Derek Penn was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were James Erkard, his brother, and his cousins, Tracy, Todd, Keith, Kevin and Trent Penn. The bride's nephew, Adam Saunders, was ring bearer, and ushers were Scott Anderson, the bride's brother, and the groom's nephews, James Jr. and Gabriel Erkard.
Mrs. Penn is a student at Central State University in Wilberforce pursuing a degree in English.
Her husband holds a bachelor's degree from the College of Wooster and is pursuing a master's degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton.
