What: About 18,000 bottles of Flood StainStrip and FloodPro Stripper/Cleaner sold in gallon bottles.
Reason: Some of the bottles can leak at the cap, allowing the contents -- which can cause burns to the skin and eyes -- to come in contact with consumers.
Description: The bottles have a Flood logo in the shape of a paintbrush. Only gallon bottles of Flood StainStrip and Stripper/Cleaner are covered by the recall.
Sold from: March through June 2001 at paint and hardware stores nationwide for between $15 and $20.
What to do: Stop using the recalled cleaners immediately and call the Flood Co. hotline at (800) 321-3444 for instructions on safely disposing of the bottles and receiving a refund. Information also is available at http://floodco.com/
BACKPACK BLOWERS
What: About 50,500 backpack blowers manufactured by five different firms.
Reason: The fuel tanks on the blowers can leak, posing a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers. There have been more than 200 reports of the fuel tanks leaking.
Description: The recalled blowers are: Husqvarna Model Nos. 155BT, 155BF; John Deere Model Nos. UT26113, UT08093, UT08104; Makita Model No. RBL500; Carswell Robin Model No. FL500; Tilton Total TB50.
Sold from: December 1996 through June 2001 at home centers, hardware stores and product dealers nationwide for between $400 and $750.
