FORMER INDIANS

FORMER INDIANS
Some were booed, but some were cheered
Fanfare:
In response to Ricky George's letter of July 8th: Albert Belle was also a jerk when he played in Cleveland, but he wasn't booed until he turned on us, the fans, when he left.
Kenny Lofton was cheered at the '97 All-star game -- as an Atlanta Brave -- because he appreciated the Tribe fans and they appreciated him. Belle did nothing but blast the Indians and their fans.
All along, Manny [Ramirez] said that he wanted to remain an Indian if the money was close ... well, he bolted for every last nickel. Manny showed us no allegiance, so we owe him little or none.
For the record, Patrick Ewing got an ovation when he went back to New York, but so did Sandy Alomar when he came back to Cleveland. Both are players with class.
