YOUNGSTOWN -- A gospel music celebration will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wick Park Pavilion for the fourth annual appreciation day for the Rev. Lewis W. Macklin II, senior pastor at Holy Trinity Baptist Church, and his family. There will be food and refreshments. Donations will be accepted.
Gala musical set
YOUNGSTOWN -- New Grace Baptist Church will have a gala musical at 5 p.m. Sunday that will include performances by the Gospel Spiritual Angels of Warren, the Anointed Hall Family of Youngstown, New Grace's junior and senior choirs and male chorus, and other performers.
Anniversary celebration
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Kimmelbrook Baptist Church Choir will celebrate its 36th anniversary at 4 p.m. Sunday with music by various choirs. Brother Jerome Kitchen, a gospel rapper from Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church, will be a guest.
Concert and speakerat Poland church
POLAND -- Valley native and resident Eric John Hawout will perform when Poland Village Baptist Church will be the host for a lawn concert at 7 p.m. today. The concert will be in the church in case of rain. An offering will be taken.
At 11 a.m. Sunday, the Rev. Dr. Robert Domokos of Ankeny, Iowa, will speak. He's chairman of the pastoral studies division at Faith Baptist Bible College and Seminary, and was pastor at Poland Village Baptist in the early 1970s.
Pillar and Beanbagdue at Pleasant Valley
NILES -- Pleasant Valley Church will be host to the groups Pillar and Beanbag in concert at 7:30 p.m. July 22. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. A group rate of $7 a person for 10 or more people is available. Call (330) 539-6582.
Retreat and mission
NEW CASTLE -- Mary, Mother of Hope Parish will have a retreat and mission with the theme, "Rediscovery of God's Gift of Love."
The Rev. Jerry Kaywell of Florida, a cancer survivor, will speak. The mission begins with Mass at 11:30 a.m. Sunday followed at 7 p.m. by a conference and a social.
Mass will be celebrated at noon Monday through Wednesday. Conferences at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday will be followed by socials.

Sacred Heart meeting
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Sacred Heart Padre Pio Prayer Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. July 22 at Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted. The program will include a presentation on patriotism.
Day camp for children set for late July
CORNERSBURG -- Zion Lutheran Church is sponsoring a day camp for children in kindergarten through sixth grade from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29 through Aug. 3. It is designed to introduce Christian camp ministry to youths without having to spend nights away from home. The camp includes crafts, games, recreation, singing, Bible study and other events. The cost is $20 a child up to a maximum of $60 per family. Registration will be available on the first day, or in advance by calling (330) 792-4046.
