Reservists to re-enlist at Family Day

VIENNA -- The 910th Airlift Wing's annual Family Day celebration Saturday at the Air Force Reserve Station will include a mass re-enlistment for about 20 members of the unit and presentation of Family of the Year award.
Brig. Gen. Michael F. Gjede, commander of the 910th, will give the oath of enlistment and present the Family of the Year award.
Family Day serves as a "thank you" to families of the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps reservists at the air station. "Quite often, reservists are needed to report for duty for an extended period of time away from home, and family members are asked to take up the slack," Gjede said.
Family Day activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a spouse's benefits briefing and end with live entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m.
In between, there will be a car show, kids activities, demonstrations and performances by military groups, a kids fishing tournament and games, softball and a golf-chipping contest.
