Levy's mother is a Liberty graduate

LIBERTY -- Fay Kirkorsky of Liberty thinks the worst about the fate of Chandra Levy, the Washington, D.C., intern who disappeared about two months ago.
"She would have called her mother by now," Kirkorsky said.
Chandra Levy and her mother, Susan Katz Levy, are cousins of Kirkorsky's. Susan Levy is a 1966 graduate of Liberty High School. While a student there, she worked on the school yearbook and newspaper.
Kirkorsky said Susan Levy's mother, Lee, is not only a cousin but also a friend. She lives in Pompano Beach, Fla.
After Susan Levy left Liberty, she went to Ohio State University, where she met her husband, Robert, who received his medical degree from OSU. They live in Modesto, Calif.
Kirkorsky said she hasn't seen Chandra Levy since she was a girl, but Robert and Susan Levy returned here about two years ago to visit her and other family members.
"Robert and Susan Levy are good-hearted people. They believe that everything has to be honest," Kirkorsky said.
Tough times: Kirkorsky sees a different image of the Levys now as sadness hangs over them.
"They're so broken up. You can see," Kirkorsky said. "What they look like now is terrible.
"We want her alive. It hurts because Lee and I are such good friends."
U.S. Rep. Gary Condit, a California Democrat, has acknowledged having an affair with the intern, and his Washington apartment has been searched for possible clues to her disappearance.
"There's something there he's not telling," Kirkorsky said.
