YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown City Health District will conduct an arthritis training workshop, funded with a $2,500 grant from the Ohio Department of Health, aimed primarily at area public-health districts. The contract with the Ohio Department of Health was approved by the city board of health. Neil Altman, city health commissioner, said he hopes to also include in the workshop nurses, social workers and others who deal with arthritis.
The health board also has asked that Youngstown City Council amend an ordinance to make nonrefundable a $100 application fee assessed for inspecting and licensing group homes. Currently, the application fee is refunded to those that are not approved.
