Wednesday's $54 million jackpot is the largest in state history. According to the Ohio Lottery Commission, the lottery:
Established Lottery Profits for Education fund, which benefits primary, secondary, vocational and special education schools throughout Ohio.
Had ticket sales of about $1.9 billion statewide last year, $612 million of which went to education.
Has given about $11 billion to Ohio's schools since the lottery began in August 1974.
Puts odds of winning current jackpot at 1 in 13,983,816.
