Hunters mark golden jubilee at celebration

BOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hunter of 820 Southwestern Run were honored at a party July 1 at the Holiday Inn in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the observance were the couple's children and their spouses, Chris and Dan Scafani of San Jose, Calif.; Chuck and Barbara Hunter of Stow; and Dennis and Mary Therese Hunter of Simi Valley, Calif. Five grandchildren complete their family.
The couple also renewed their marriage vows at a celebration June 24 at St. Columba Cathedral.
The former Nancy Malone and Mr. Hunter were married Jan. 27, 1951, at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired in November 1989 from Conrail in Youngstown, where he had been a yard conductor for 38 years and a union representative for 24 years. He is a member of the Erie Golf League.
His wife retired in July 1990 from Sears in Boardman, where she was manager of the store offices. She is a member of St. Nicholas Church, the Sears Friendship Club, Struthers Senior Citizens and the Christian Women's Club.
