Golden wedding anniversary is observed by the Uffelmans



LIBERTY -- Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Uffelman Jr., 521 Murray Hill Drive, observed their 50th wedding anniversary during an intimate dinner June 30 at their home.
The former Irma Starr and Mr. Uffelman were united in marriage June 30, 1951, at the old St. Ann Catholic Church in Youngstown. They are members of St. Edward Church.
The couple have one son, Edward Uffelman of Scottsdale, Ariz., and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Uffelman, a homemaker, was employed as a telephone operator at The Vindicator for 10 years prior to retiring in 1990.
Mr. Uffelman was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for more than 30 years and retired in 1989 from his position as postmaster at the Lake Milton post office. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and is a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He and his wife are members of the Youngstown State University Alumni Association.
