YO-MAH-O Officers seated, scholarships awarded at dinner meeting

BOARDMAN -- Yo-Mah-O Chapter, International Association of Administrative Professionals, installed officers for the 2001-2002 term and awarded two scholarships during a dinner meeting held June 12 at the Holiday Inn.
Joan Giba and Carmella DiGaetano conducted the induction ceremony at which Joan Battagline was installed as president of the organization.
Seated as her associate officers were Barbara Sofranec, president-elect; Mary Lynn Pavone, recording secretary; Christine Simone, corresponding secretary; Andrea McConnaughy, treasurer; and Tracy Goad, assistant treasurer. Serving as parliamentarian will be Judy Cundik.
Born in Pittsburgh and a graduate of Duquesne University, Battagline moved to Boardman in 1970 and is sales associate with Home Savings and Loan Co., where she has 25 years of service. She joined the chapter in 1989 and has served as president-elect, vice president and recording secretary, and has been chairman of social, ways and means, Secretaries Day and nominating committees. She and her husband, Pat, live in Berlin Center.
Appointed to various committees were Roseann DeSimone Cullen, Administrative Professional Week; Miriam Nogal, attendance and courtesy; Kim Peachock, audit; Laura Malloy, bulletin; Karen Shidemantle, community service; Cundik, service; Mary Mislay Hake, education and executive night; Patricia Vallas and Ellen McQuade, member of the year; Joyce Laska, membership, Cullen and Barbara Kramer, program; Peg Davis, publicity and scrapbook; Kathy Brown, retirement and building fund; Nogal, rules and bylaws; Bonnie Filipovich, scholarship; Sharon Conway, social; Mary Lou Weingart and Marlene Dailey, ways and means; and Sharyn Fees and Vallas, Web site.
Scholarship awards were presented to Nicole M. Kopnicky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Fiorentine and the late Tom Kopnicky, who is a senior majoring in political science at Youngstown State University, and to Melissa Holdford, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Holdford, who will be a junior majoring in business at Baldwin-Wallace College.
