INSTALLATIONS Lions club inducts new slate of officers
Various awards also were presented to members.
HOWLAND -- The Youngstown Lions Club held installation of officers June 28 at the Avalon Inn.
John S. Reed was seated as president of the organization.
A graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Reed is a certified public accountant and member of the Ohio Society of CPAs. He is assistant treasurer of the Home Savings and Loan Co. He and his wife, Lori, reside in Brookfield.
Those installed as his associate officers are Jerry M. Bryan, first vice president; Jeffery A. Patterson, second vice president; Diane Hardenbrook, treasurer; and Robert J. Iacobucci, secretary.
Serving on the board of directors are William G. Addington III, Stephen J. Bukovac, Roger Guglucello, Bryan K. Reed, Peter J. Storey, Anthony Vivo, Parker T. McHenry, John R. Getchey and George R. Kolesar.
Committees: Those who will be chairmen of committees are as follows: Iacobucci, attendance and fund-raising/Turtle Derby; Patterson, blind Christmas party/installations dinner; Roy R. Reese Sr., bowling; J. Kenneth Gran, civic/sick; Bryan, constitution and bylaws/membership; Odelin Kraja, conventions/inductions/Melvin Jones Eyecare representative; Vivo, fellowship/publicity; John G. Callos, historian; Addington, Jungle Jargon; George R. Kolesar, Lion information; Bridget Lyden, Lion tamer; Roger Guglucello, master tail twister; Phil Gainan, program coordinator; Theodore R. Cubbison, resolutions; Bryan K. Reed, sight saving; Reese Wills Jr., sky pilot; and Bukovac, social.
Retiring president Douglas G. Lewis was presented with a plaque, past president's pin and gavel by Reed, who also presented a 50-year service award to Kraja. Bukovac also was honored with the Melvin E. Jones Fellowship plaque for volunteer work.
Walter Seaburn, 13D district governor, was installing officer.
