AMERITECH GRANTS Technology and education



The following Youngstown-area organizations received Ameritech grants totaling $63,600 through the Ohio Community Technology Fund:
Mahoning County Chemical Dependency Programs, 527 N. Meridian Road: $43,600, in collaboration with the Cleo Mar Block Club, Homeless Solutions Resident Council and GlenPark Manor Tenant's Association, to develop the Southside Technology Center, 550 Chalmers Ave.
North Starr Patchwork Training Center, 192 Haseltine Ave.: $10,000 to develop a Web site and provide e-commerce training that will enable low-income women to sell their crafts online.
Young Women's Christian Association, 25 W. Rayen Ave.: $10,000 to buy technological and educational resources for a computer lab used by teachers and preschool children enrolled in the Y's Discovery Place Preschool Program.
