Boardman Bill's Place 10, Mayo & amp; Orvets 3 -- Dan Hammond picked up the save and Rob Fernbeck and Joe Icaubucci each had two hits as Boardman improved to 17-7.

Babe Ruth (age 13)
Astro Falcons 5, Rondinelli Tuxedo 3 -- Bill Couchenour tossed a three-hitter while Dan Stanovcak tripled. Jim Pasquine and Matt Ruble each doubled while David Vitko scored twice.
Greater Akron Baseball Federation
BB Rooners 6, Akron Giants 4 -- Trailing 4-0, Rooners scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nolan Reimold of Sharon homered, Matt Hundley of Howland was the winning pitcher and T.J. Smith of Youngstown picked up the save.
SOFTBALL
Traveling (18-younger)
West End Silver -- went unbeaten to win the Canfield Ohio Stars NSA qualifier tournament. The team, managed by Al Toth, has won national qualifiers for Pony Nationals and NSA Nationals and will compete in the Pony event in Sterling, Va., on July 22. Players are Tricia McHenry, Niki Knopp, Jamie Zupko, Jolene Lamb, Stephanie Fabian, Ashley Ault, Rachel Higgins, Heather Fink, Heather Hrina, Traci Degarmo, Sarah Shaffer and Jenn Toth.
Traveling (12-younger)
Valley Sting Purple 6, Valley Sting Green 0 -- Kasey Karr and Jaclyn Carpenter of Champion combined to pitch the shutout. Purple (40-12) also defeated Canfield Flames (11-3) and Sting Green (7-2) before winning rain-shortened playoff games against Jaguars A and Ohio Ice Blue. Local players include Poland's Ciera Urichich, Jenna Susany, Allie Patton and Ashley Conger, and Leavittsburg's Lia Gordon.
