Fireworks suspected as cause of blaze

SHARON, Pa. -- Authorities said children playing with fireworks may have started a fire that gutted part of a two-bay garage at 104 Fourth Avenue around 5:20 p.m. Monday.
The cause is still under investigation but police said they had reports of children in the neighborhood shooting fireworks near the garage most of the day. There was even one unconfirmed report that kids were shooting off fireworks inside the garage, police said. The garage wasn't locked and the overhead door had been left open, police said.
There was a car parked in the garage that was being used for parts, police said, noting the vehicle was burned in the blaze. Firefighters were on the scene until 6:45 p.m. but then had to go back at 7:05 p.m. when the fire rekindled in one corner of the garage.
Owner Linda Yatsko told authorities the structure was insured.
