Safety tips
Here are some ways to stay safe in the backyard pool during the summer swimming season:
Always swim with someone else.Avoid the water when overheated, tired or cold.Avoid swimming if the water appears cloudy.Do not eat or chew gum while swimming. Both can lead to choking.Do not push, shove or run in or near pool area.Get out of the pool if you see lightning or hear thunder.Swim away from slides and diving boards, never under them.Slides should be positioned at deepest end of pool. Water at least 8 feet deep is recommended.Slide down feet first, sitting up. Going down head first can cause head, neck or back injuries.
