Man pulled over on traffic violations reports robbery

YOUNGSTOWN -- A 42-year-old Lowellville man, whom police initially pulled over after watching him drive recklessly through two parking lots near South Avenue, told officers he had just been robbed of about $1,300 to $1,400 at gunpoint.
Police stopped the victim around 9:30 p.m. Friday after observing him speed out of the parking lot of Ted's Tavern, 3305 South Ave.
The victim said he meant to meet a friend at the bar but was approached by a man who demanded money before he went inside. He said the suspect also tried to take his vehicle but then fled in a separate car.
The suspect is identified as a 6-foot-tall, 175-pound white male with a goatee, driving a loud Chevrolet Chevette.
