Anniversary celebration is held in Boardman for the Friends

McDONALD -- The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Friend, 937 Ohio Ave., was celebrated Dec. 1 during a buffet dinner party at the K. of C. Hall.
Arrangements for the festivities were made by the couple's children and their spouses, Elaine and Dan Kovach of Liberty, David and Audrey Friend and Lisa and Martin Graff, all of McDonald, Nancy and Steve Pruneski of Uniontown; and Mark and Jennifer Friend of Hubbard. Also participating were the couple's 11 grandchildren.
The former Shirley A. Stauffer and Mr. Friend were united in marriage Dec. 3, 1951, in Friendsville, Md. They are members of Boardman Baptist Church, Boardman.
Mr. Friend served with the U.S.. Navy and retired in 1991 from U.S. Steel and McDonald Steel where he was a maintenance supervisor. His wife is a homemaker.
