WARREN -- A 22-year-old Oak Street man was stabbed when a playful wrestling match got out of control, police reports say.
Police were called to Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital to talk to William Fisher, who was being treated for a deep puncture wound to his right arm.
Reports say he was taken to the hospital by a friend Wednesday night.
The victim refused to tell police who stabbed him and changed his story several times during the interview, reports say.
Niles store is robbed
NILES -- An armed robber struck at a Youngstown-Warren Road convenience store.
A clerk at Schultz Shell Gas told police the man came in about 7 p.m. Wednesday, looked around, then pulled a gun from his pants pocket.
He handed the clerk a Christmas bag, demanding money from the register, then walked south on Frederick Street.
Canfield cruiser crashes
CANFIELD -- Joe Howard, a Mahoning County deputy sheriff, lost control of his cruiser on icy pavement about 5:25 a.m. today in the 6400 block of South Raccoon Road, just north of U.S. Route 224.
The cruiser came to rest between two trees, and Howard had to be cut from the car by members of the Canfield Fire Department.
He was treated for minor injuries, but the cruiser was heavily damaged, said Maj. Michael Budd.
The sheriff's department and Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
Scuffle with police
FARRELL, Pa. -- A Hermitage man faces charges after a scuffle with police at UPMC Hospital. A Shenango Township police officer was treated for neck and face injuries after being hit by Albert Mundy, 20, of Madison Street, police said.
Officers took Mundy to the hospital after he ran into a tree while trying to elude police on Sharon-Bedford Road about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said Mundy was drunk and they were keeping him at the hospital until he sobered up.
Man shot in hand
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A Steubenville man helping a family member unload Christmas gifts from a car was shot in the hand Christmas Day.
Police said Bo Williams, 26, of Linduff Street was shot about 1:45 a.m. Tuesday by an unidentified person driving by the family's Reynolds Street home.
Police said the victim's sister told them that her husband tried to treat the man's wound at home and they waited about two hours before going to the hospital because Williams was intoxicated.
Williams was later taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, where he was in satisfactory condition today.
Stolen-property charge
SALEM -- Perry Township police have charged two Maryland men with one count each of receiving stolen property.
Police made the arrests Monday after investigating a report about 12:45 p.m. of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Lodge Sign Co., 1753 S. Lincoln Ave., south of Salem.
They checked the vehicle registration on the 2000 GMC, a Penske rental truck, and found it reported stolen from Lawrence, Kan.
Guns and cabinet stolen
DARLINGTON, Pa. -- Guns and a gun cabinet were taken between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Wednesday from storage trailers on Stateline Road. Pennsylvania State Police said the items are owned by a Leetonia man.
Robbery charges
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Police said four men worked together to take money from a Shenango Street woman.
Nelson McAllister, 25, of North Boulevard; Ronald Keller, 18, of Meriline Street; Paul Richard Robertson III, 19, of Countyline Street; and a 17-year-old male each face charges of robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, criminal solicitation, burglary, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and theft.
Police said McAllister knew the woman and alerted the other three that she was home at 9:49 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Robertson and the 17-year-old went into the house with a large kitchen knife and a gun and demanded money. Keller waited outside as a lookout, police said.
They then ran off with the woman's purse but were tracked down a short time later by police who were in the area on patrol, the report said.
