YOUNGSTOWN Suspects flee stolen car after crashing into house

Three people were arrested after an unrelated armed robbery at a convenience store.
YOUNGSTOWN -- A stolen car being pursued into the city by Boardman police after a robbery this morning at the Dairy Mart, 7103 Lockwood Boulevard, crashed into a house at 521 W. Delason Ave. about 5 a.m., police said.
The occupants of the 1996 Oldsmobile fled on foot. The car had been reported stolen out of Boardman and was turned over to Boardman police as evidence.
A Boardman cruiser driven by Lt. John Rosensteel also hit the house but did not damage it. Minimal damage was done to the cruiser, police said.
Two suspects entered the store about 4:40 a.m. One took cash out of the register and pushed buttons on the safe, which released money, police said. The robbers collected a total of $55 and two packs of cigarettes then fled.
West Side: Youngstown police, meanwhile, chased and caught two women and a 17-year-old girl early today after an armed robbery at 2 a.m. at Dairy Mart, 1661 Mahoning Ave.
Police said the getaway car stopped in a driveway at 1691 Mahoning and all three suspects ran. Rafeka Johnson, 27, of Guss Street was charged with aggravated robbery. No charges were filed against a 20-year-old Tyrell Avenue resident, who was the driver, said Detective Sgt. Pat Kelly.
The 17-year-old girl, of Lipkey Road, North Jackson, was taken to the juvenile justice center, where officers found that an apprehension order had been issued for her in an unrelated case. She faces charges of aggravated robbery and obstructing official business.
