YOUNGSTOWN Police arrest 3 on drug charges



YOUNGSTOWN -- Police made three unrelated arrests on drug charges Friday night, including an arrest of a Parkview Avenue man suspected of carrying a gun while he was drunk.
The man, 29, was charged with having a weapon while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and drug abuse-marijuana. Police said they watched the man pull the gun out of his waistband and drop it in the passenger side of a parked car at 9:50 p.m. on Glenwood Avenue. The Poland man driving the car said he stopped when he was flagged down by the Parkview Avenue man.
Police found a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in the Parkview Avenue man's coat pocket. The man also smelled of alcohol and was slurring his speech, police said.
More arrests: On Friday night, police also arrested a 44-year-old woman after finding a suspected crack pipe in her car during a traffic stop. The woman, of Thrush Avenue, Lake Milton, was pulled over around 9:40 p.m. on the Madison Avenue Expressway. Police also found two plastic bags containing suspected crack cocaine in the woman's pocket.
She was charged by police with drug abuse-cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 36-year-old man also was arrested during a traffic stop Friday night after police found a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine in his pocket. The man, of Malla Lane, Girard, was pulled over at 11:15 p.m. on Lane Avenue. He was charged by police with drug abuse-cocaine.
