ROUNDUP Eldridge keys Chaney past Akron East



UNIONTOWN -- Donielle Eldridge, a 5-foot-7 junior, scored a season-high 17 points and she added 10 rebounds as Chaney turned back Akron East 60-50 in the consolation game of the Uniontown Lake Holiday Festival Saturday.
Tara Mshar added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Cowboys (4-5), who led 30-20 at the break.
Latia Solomon scored 24 points for the Orientals.
Akron Hoban 59, Rayen 55: AKRON -- Cherrell Triplett scored 29 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, but fouled out with a minute remaining as Rayen fell to Hoban.
The Tigers (5-4) were outscored 18-11 in the fourth quarter and turned the ball over on a pivotal possession with under a minute left. Taneisha Holland added 13 points and nine assists for Rayen.
Dee Bethune scored 15 points and Rhea Boyd and Amanda Baum each scored 10 for Hoban (6-1).
Struthers 39, Niles 34: STRUTHERS -- Four Struthers players scored points in the first quarter when the Wildcats opened a 16-6 advantage.
Ariel Hardy scored 10 points for the Wildcats (3-5, 1-1 Metro Athletic Conference), while Stacia Ray hit for 18 points for the Red Dragons (3-6, 0-2).
Southeast 84, Jackson-Milton 37: NORTH JACKSON -- Lisa Dubinsky scored 14 of her 24 points in the first quarter as Southeast cruised past Jackson-Milton.
The Bluejays cut the score to 15-14 at one point, but the Pirates (7-0) went on a 12-0 run to finish the quarter. Kara Gintert added 18 points and Rachelle Cassidy scored 11 for Southeast.
Jessica Hemphill scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bluejays (1-6).
