Hiram routed by Lake Erie in consolation fray of meet

TIFFIN -- Aaron Johnson scored 25 points and Brandon Henderson added 23, as Lake Erie College defeated Hiram 93-67 in the consolation game of the Hampton Inn Coaches vs. Cancer Holiday Classic.
Lake Erie (5-7) led 43-35 at the break.
Emeka Mbanefo scored 15 points for Hiram (2-9).
Akron 76, Mount Union 70: AKRON -- Rashon Brown shot 17-for-18 from the foul line and poured in 28 points for the Zips (3-7).
Todd Richards scored 21 points for the Purple Raiders (8-2).
Women: ALLIANCE -- Poland High School graduate Allie Graf scored 14 points and Dana Robinson of Wilson added 11 more as Mount Union defeated Heidelberg 65-52.
The Purple Raiders are 5-7, 3-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
Rachael Poland led Heidelberg (6-4, 4-2) with 24 points.
