Senators 1, Devils 0
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Mike Fisher scored midway through the second period and Jani Hurme stopped 23 shots for his fourth career shutout.
The Senators defeated the Devils for the first time this season after three losses. Ottawa ended the Devils' three-game unbeaten streak (1-0-2).
Ottawa outshot New Jersey 9-5 in the scoreless, tight-checking first period that featured few good chances.
The tempo quickened in the second period and resulted in the goal by Fisher at 10:00. The score came just as a high-sticking penalty to Brian Rafalski expired.
Wade Redden lifted a high floating shot from the left point that Fisher deflected past Martin Brodeur. It was Ottawa's first goal in 119:30 against Brodeur and New Jersey.
Philadelphia 4, Carolina 3
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia's Mark Recchi scored his second goal of the game 27 seconds into overtime to give the Flyers a victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.
Recchi scored on a wrist shot from the crease after taking a pass from Kim Johnnson, who had stripped the puck from Carolina's Eric Cole.
Jeremy Roenick pulled the Flyers even at 12:04 of the third period, scoring off a centering pass from Recchi. Simon Gagne also scored for the Flyers, 10-0-1 against Southeast Division teams.
Sean Hill, Darren Langdon and Sami Kapanen scored for the Southeast Division-leading Hurricanes.
Recchi pushed the puck past the glove side of diving goalie Arturs Irbe for his 13th goal at 1:47 of the first period. Donald Brashear, acquired from Vancouver in a trade for Jan Hlavac on Dec. 17, assisted on the play for his first point with the Flyers.
Hill pulled the Hurricanes even at 1 at 14:08, scoring on a power play after taking a centering pass from Ron Francis. Francis leads the NHL with 16 power-play assists.
Maple Leafs 3, Sabres 2
TORONTO -- Alexander Mogilny scored and had two assists as the Toronto Maple Leafs held on for the victory. Gary Roberts scored the go-ahead goal for the Maple Leafs, who blew a 3-2 third-period lead in Friday's 3-3 tie with Buffalo.
On Friday, Buffalo's Slava Kozlov scored a power-play goal with 6:15 remaining, but Saturday, the Sabres failed to score with a two man advantage late in the third.
Toronto's Bryan McCabe received a roughing penalty with 2:47 left, and the Sabres pulled their goalie for over a minute during the power play.
Buffalo is winless in its last seven trips to Toronto (0-6-1), although the Maple Leafs haven't won in regulation at Buffalo since May 1991.
Darcy Tucker added two assists for the Maple Leafs, who have win six of eight.
James Patrick and Rhett Warrener scored for the Sabres, who have just one win in their last eight (1-6-1).
Bruins 4, Islanders 2
UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Glen Murray had a goal and an assist, and defenseman Kyle McLaren added a pair of assists for the Bruins .
Rob Zamuner, Brian Rolston and Joe Thornton also scored for the Bruins, who beat the Islanders for the fourth straight time. They've won three of those games 4-2.
Byron Dafoe stopped 24 shots for his 16th win. Boston has picked up points in three straight games (2-0-0-1).
Roman Hamrlik and former Bruin Shawn Bates scored for the Islanders and Chris Osgood made 26 saves.
Canadiens 2, Kings 1
MONTREAL -- Yanic Perreault scored a power-play goal with 3:15 left as Montreal ended the Kings' five-game winning streak.
Blues 2, Panthers 0
SUNRISE, Fla. -- Keith Tkachuk and Cory Stillman scored less than two minutes apart early in the third period to lift the St. Louis Blues. The victory was just the Blues' second in their last 13 road games and first in their last six.
