Youngstown Kiwanis sponsors Young Builders enrollment

YOUNGSTOWN -- Members of the Downtown Youngstown Kiwanis Club held an induction ceremony Nov. 27 to enroll 20 fourth-grade members of the Young Builders Club at St. Edward School.
Young Builders Club officers for 2001-2002 are Elizabeth McBride, president; Bryent Bowman, vice president; Mary Akpadock, secretary; and Christopher Clinkscale, treasurer.
The Rev. Frank Lehnerd, pastor of St. Edward Church, gave the invocation. Kiwanis Club members in attendance were Ed Gluck, president; Chuck Whitman, past president; Sherry McKelvey; and Virginia Leskanic.
Activities: The children's projects included collecting money for meals at the Rescue Mission, buying a gift for the Giving Tree at the church, visiting nursing homes to sing Christmas carols and collecting beverage cans for recycling, pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House and Christmas cards for Tod Children's Hospital.
