Local 1714 distributing food items

Members of United Auto Workers Local 1714 at the Lordstown fabricating plant distributed food today to 225 families in need.
Bob Beathe, Local 1714 community service chairman, said $6,000 worth of Christmas toys were given to children Wednesday.
Beathe said the union raised about $23,000 during the year to buy the gifts and food, including turkeys.
Each family receives about $200 in food.
The families in need were referred to the service committee by union members.
