Drug, rape cases bound over to grand jury
NILES -- A Gilbert Street man accused of several drug offenses and a Weathersfield man accused of raping his former girlfriend have been bound over to the Trumbull County grand jury.
Louis Jackson Jr., 19, of Niles waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday in municipal court .
He was charged Friday with five counts of possession of counterfeit substances and one count of trafficking in drugs.
During a five-month investigation by the Niles Narcotics unit, the Trumbull County Drug Task Force and the Boardman office of the state Bureau of Criminal Investigation, agents bought LSD and other drugs from Jackson, according to authorities. Jackson is free on bond.
Paul E. Myers, 28, of Weathersfield, meanwhile, is charged with rape, felonious assault and burglary.
He also waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday.
