Ceremony costs more than $17,000

YOUNGSTOWN -- The presidential installation ceremony for Dr. David Sweet at Youngstown State University cost $17,278.
The biggest cost was $5,970 for hors d'oeuvres served at a reception after the installation and $5,362 for printing invitations and programs, according to an itemized list of expenses released this week by Sweet's office.
Sweet said Wood Dining Services, which provides food services on campus, contributed $1,771, and the remaining $15,507 was covered by private donations. No general fund dollars were used, he said.
The ceremony in Beeghly Hall was in October, 16 months after Sweet became YSU president in July 2000.
The installation included a luncheon, the ceremony and a reception.
