2 attorneys have licenses susupended
COLUMBUS -- The Ohio Supreme Court suspended two Poland attorneys from practicing law for at least two years.
The seven justices unanimously voted to suspend the licenses of Paul F. Gambrel and Walter D. Hartsock for their involvement in a kickback scheme involving claims against Nationwide Insurance Co.
According to the high court's decision released Wednesday, Gambrel was negotiating a claim settlement for a client when he offered and paid Hartsock $2,500 for a favorable settlement.
Hartsock was found to have violated "the code of professional responsibility" by providing inside settlement information to attorneys for money.
Both men are indefinitely suspended and cannot apply for license reinstatement until Dec. 19, 2003. Attorneys for both men were unavailable to comment.
