SALEM -- The Salem Area Amateur Radio Association is offering classes for people interested in obtaining the general class amateur radio license. The classes begin at 6 p.m. Jan. 7 and will be for 10 weeks from 6 to 8 p.m. each Monday. The class is free, however a $19 study book is recommended. For more information, call (330) 337-6544.
Shooting victim critical
YOUNGSTOWN -- Keith Martin, 21, of Youngstown was in critical condition today at St. Elizabeth Health Center with a gunshot wound to his chest. Martin had been shot as he ran out of a home on Park Heights Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday and collapsed in the driveway. A male suspect is in custody and is expected to be charged today.
