Animal Kingdom
Advice to make a trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom more enjoyable:
Be there when the park opens and ride the African safari first. Animals are most active in the morning, and lines are longer later in the day.
Use FASTPASS to avoid lines on some attractions, especially "It's Tough to Be a Bug." This is a free service that gives you a ticket to a separate, express line. You can receive FASTPASS tickets for only one attraction at a time.
Unless it's a hot day, save the rafting ride in the Asian section for last. That way, the one or two in your party who get soaked won't be cranky for the rest of the day. If you really want to be prepared, bring a poncho.
Be sure to use the compartment in the center of the rafting ride to keep your shoes, camera or other valuables dry. It has a plastic lid that keeps out the water.
Keep an eye on the times of the shows you want to see. Although it may not be possible to see everything in the park in one day, you will have time to see the shows and enjoy the animals and exhibits at a leisurely pace.
Backpacks are allowed in the park, so feel free to bring in snacks if you wish.
