Family trip taken to celebrate Shreve jubilee
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. G. Howard Shreve, 4432 Barrington Drive, marked their 50th wedding anniversary during a family trip Nov. 17-24 to Orlando, Fla., where they visited Disney World and other attractions.
The former Ginny Burk and Mr. Shreve exchanged marriage vows Nov. 17, 1951, at St. John's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Shreve retired in October 1997 from Associated School Employees Credit Union in Austintown, where she was a member service representative. She is a member of Mau-Mil Auxiliary to Miriam Chapter 278, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Shreve, a school psychologist who retired in September 1987, was employed by Mahoning County Board of Education and Austintown Local School District. He is a member of Austintown Growth Foundation, USS Landing Ship Medium-Landing Ship Medium Rocket Association and the Mahoning County Republican Party Central Committee. He served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater and also served during the Korean War.
The couple are members of Westview Church of Christ, Austintown.
Their children and spouses are Jennifer and Mike Kurish of Austintown and Scott and Evelyn Shreve of Demarest, N.J. The family also includes four grandchildren.
