AT YOUR OWN RISK: There are always risks in alpine skiing, a daredevil sport in which racers careen down icy mountains at speeds of up to 90 mph, but this year the carnage seems worse than ever. Perfect examples are Switzerland's Silvano Beltrametti, above, who was paralyzed in this crash last weekend, and Regine Cavagnoud of France, who died following an October collision.
