SHARON Burglars hit cafe 2 times in 3 days

Thieves removed a safe in the second burglary.
SHARON, Pa. -- Police recovered about $15,000 and made a second arrest in the Sunday morning burglary at the Hot Rod Cafe in the Three By the River complex, but now they have another burglary at the business to investigate.
Someone broke into the same office Wednesday morning and stole a safe from the building, police said.
The second burglary was discovered around 6 a.m. and police found the missing safe and a dolly used to wheel it away along the Shenango River south of the restaurant complex about six hours later.
The safe had been opened and the contents removed.
Police said they don't know yet how much money was in that safe.
Suspects: They have made two arrests and recovered about $15,000 taken in the Sunday burglary in which an office safe was opened.
A former Hot Rod employee, Thomas R. Hoffman III, 21, of Prindle Street, was picked up just hours after that burglary and admitted breaking in and opening the safe, police said. He is in Mercer County Jail with bond set at $50,000.
On Wednesday, police arrested Archie D. Torreance, 18, who lives with Hoffman on Prindle Street, on a warrant charging him with receiving stolen property and a parole detainer.
Police said Torreance is accused of getting $4,600 in proceeds taken in the first Hot Rod burglary and told them Hoffman gave him the money. He was arraigned before District Justice James McMahon and remains lodged in county jail today with bond set at $5,000.
All the money recovered so far in that case was found at the Prindle Street location, police said, adding that some money is still missing.
Police have also arrested Torreance's brother but not in connection with the Hot Rod burglary.
Travis W. Torreance, 19, of Spruce Avenue, was picked up at 5 a.m. today on a warrant charging him with burglary, simple assault and criminal trespass.
Police said he and a second man went to Archie's house around 7 p.m. Monday and attacked him, beating and kicking him about the head and back.
Travis Torreance faced arraignment today.
