The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired right-handed pitchers Kip Wells, Sean Lowe and Josh Fogg from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Todd Ritchie and minor league catcher Lee Evans late this morning. Lowe, 30, went 9-4 with three saves and a 3.61 ERA in 45 games with the White Sox last season. Wells, 24, went 10-11 with a 4.79 ERA in 40 games (20 starts), while Fogg, who turns 25 today, spent the majority of the 2001 campaign with Class AAA Charlotte and posted a 4-7 record, four saves and a 4.79 ERA in 40 games (16 starts).
