Bush should let world see the evil face of bin Laden

It's not a matter of giving Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of international terrorism, television time, or of providing him with a forum to spew his hatred against the United States. It's simply a matter of proving to the world, particularly the Muslim world, just how evil bin Laden really is and demonstrating his direct involvement in the Sept. 11 murderous assault on the U.S. that claimed more than 3,000 lives.
A videotape that reportedly shows the world's leading terrorist reveling in the attack three months ago to the day should be made public by the Bush administration without further delay. The face of evil must not be hidden from view.
This nation, which is still in mourning for the thousands who died or were injured, does not need to be protected from the bin Laden's immorality. He and his thugs have stolen our innocence. We need to see and hear his reaction to the suicide hijacking of four fuel-laden jet planes by his agents of terrorism. Two of the aircraft were flown into the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City, one slammed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and one crashed in Pennsylvania. The towers were reduced to rubble.
Disgusting: President Bush and his National Security Council have reviewed the bin Laden videotape and have read a translation of its contents, which Ari Fleischer, White House press secretary, described as disgusting.
"The president's reaction was this shows everything that we've always known -- that Osama bin Laden was behind the attacks against our country, and what an evil man anybody could be to be satisfied and find joy in the killing of thousands of innocents."
The tape, which was discovered during a search of a private home in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, is not the usual propaganda tool that bin Laden has used to rally support among members of his Al-Qaida terrorist network. This one is said to be a recording of a conversation he had with others about the Sept. 11 attacks.
After studying the video, Bush administration officials say they have no doubt that bin Laden was involved in the planning of the operation, and that he monitored the progress on the day the attacks were carried out. Indeed, after the first plane struck one of the World Trade Center towers, the terrorist mastermind said more devastation was coming.
On the videotape, bin Laden says he was pleasantly surprised by the extent of the damage from the attacks.
Right: While the airing of the tape will show the world that in the war against global terrorism, America's might does make right -- the U.S.-led coalition has toppled the ruthless Taliban regime in Afghanistan and is now going after bin Laden and his Al-Qaida operatives -- it should be of special interest to Muslims around the world.
Even today, after all of the evidence that has been presented linking bin Laden to global terrorism, many Muslims believe that the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were orchestrated by the U.S. and carried out by Israel -- just so this country could declare war on Islam.
It's time to put such a ridiculous claim to rest. The release of the videotape will do that.
