Howland SCOPE On Stage Book Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of Peggy Boyd. There will be a potluck luncheon, and "Mrs. Claus" will read "Night Before Christmas." A Christmas dance and dinner will be held Wednesday with doors opening at 6 p.m. followed by the buffet at 6:30. Cost is $7.50, and reservations are required. An ABC Christmas luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 19. Cost is $3.50, and reservations are required. A trip is planned for Feb. 19 to Chardon Square for lunch at the Rosepoint Cottage Tea Room followed by a stop at the Lake Farm Quilt Show and Remembrance Quilt Supply Shop. Departure will be at 8 a.m. from Howland and 8:30 from West Farmington with a return at about 7 p.m. Cost is $42 with a $20 deposit needed now and final payment by Feb. 1. Space is limited to 34 people. Howland and Niles SCOPE will join for a New Year's Eve dance at the Niles center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:30 and dancing from 9 to midnight. Those attending should take their own beverages. Tickets are $12 and are available at either center. Space is limited to 90 persons.
