HMHP's new Web site
YOUNGSTOWN -- Humility of Mary Health Partners launched a Web site, www.HMpartners.org, which features an overview of services offered by HMHP. It also includes an online physician directory, and for health-care professionals, the Web site has lists of upcoming continuing medical education classes and physician practice opportunities.

YOUNGSTOWN -- HMHP's December Talk With a Doc program, at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, will offer information on how to receive medications at discounted prices or free of charge if financial requirements are met. Capsule endoscopy
PITTSBURGH -- University of Pittsburgh Medical Center gastroenterologists are the first in the state to offer the world's first capsule endoscopy system, in which patients swallow a pill-size camera that transmits images of the digestive tract that can be read on a computer. The pill camera, which passed through the body in about eight hours, allows doctors to view the entire length of the small bowel, which traditional endoscopic procedures are unable to do.
Deep brain stimulation
LIBERTY -- Drs. Ali R. Rezai and Erwin B. Montgomery, both of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, will discuss deep brain stimulation at a program from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn, Belmont Avenue at I-80. Deep brain stimulation is used to reduce or eliminate tremors, rigidity, slowness or lack of movement, and balance and gait problems. The program is free and open to people affected by these movement disorders.
St. Joseph open house

Slimdown program
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth offers Slimdown, an eight-week program taught by nutrition professionals beginning Jan. 14 and 16, 2002. YOUNGSTOWN -- The ENCOREplus program is offering the Mammovan from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Youngstown YWCA, 25 W. Rayen Ave. ENCOREplus provides breast cancer screenings and helps refer Mahoning County area women to low- or no-cost mammograms.
